Glyteine is the propietary form of the naturally occurring peptide gamma-glutamylcysteine, which is our body’s own precursor to glutathione synthesis. It plays an important role in maintaining and elevating cellular glutathione levels.

Glyteine is often the limiting factor in cellular glutathione synthesis, as it is less abundant than the other three amino acids that make up glutathione: Glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine. Taking supplements to increase these amino acids, such as N-acetylcysteine (NAC), in the hope that they will increase glutathione production is, therefore, of very little use.

Glutathione is also available as a dietary supplement; however, it cannot penetrate cell membranes and enter cells where it is needed. Taking glutathione orally might increase blood plasma glutathione, but it is only inside the cells where glutathione can perform all of its unique functions. Outside the cell, glutathione rapidly breaks down into its constituent three amino acids.

The Glyteine present in the Continual-G range of products was specifically developed to overcome these limitations of current supplements claiming to increase glutathione. Glyteine, taken orally, is rapidly transported into cells and provides a readily available source of gamma-glutamylcysteine, effectively boosting the body’s natural glutathione synthesis. Clinical studies have shown that supplementation with Glyteine can lead to increased cellular glutathione levels in the body within hours of the first dose.
