We are celebrating our Johnson & Johnson immune-support award

INID Research Lab, makers of Continual-G® with Glyteine®, is celebrating an award of global proportions! We are an awardee of Johnson & Johnson Innovation’s Next in Naturals QuickFire Challenge on Immune Support.

The QuickFire Challenge platform aims to empower and enable potential groundbreaking science and health solutions by encouraging students, entrepreneurs, researchers and start-up companies to tackle some of the world's most challenging problems in healthcare.

As part of the award, INID Research Lab will now have access to resources and support of the Johnson & Johnson Innovation -- JLABS (“JLABS”) ecosystem to help drive innovations for emerging companies to catalyze growth and optimize their research and development. INID Laboratory will continue in their goal to utilize the breakthrough cellular glutathione-boosting ingredient, Glyteine®, currently available in Continual-G® products.

The Next in Naturals QuickFire Challenge on Immune-Support invited innovators to submit potential solutions inspired by nature that aim to support healthy immune systems in babies, children, or adults.

“We feel this incredible opportunity will empower us to accelerate the development and global commercialization of Glyteine® to potentially bring about many more life-enhancing solutions,” comments INID Research Lab President Rajan Shah. “We look forward to the opportunity to work with Johnson & Johnson Innovation as we aim to provide improved immune support options to people worldwide.”

QuickFire Challenge criteria

In selecting INID Laboratory as its QuickFire Challenge awardee, JLABS’ considered the following criteria:

  • Ability to support a healthy immune system in babies, children, or adults
  • Differentiating science, ingredients, or forms versus current portfolio and competitive offerings in the marketplace
  • Quality & feasibility of technology
  • Preferably supported by non confidential preclinical or clinical data (could be references to existing literature)
  • Team credibility & capabilities
  • Clarity of plan: Milestones & defined go/no go decisions

Glyteine®’s significance in immune support

Glutathione plays a key role in the immune system, and its depletion within cells is associated with numerous chronic health conditions. The body’s ability to make glutathione diminishes due to such factors as age, stress and exposure to everyday environmental toxins.

Research has shown that Glyteine® has the game-changing ability to quickly raise glutathione levels in our cells, where it is most needed. Its singular ability to cross cell membranes and raise glutathione levels above their set point (homeostasis) could have major significance for human health.

Glyteine®, a naturally occurring gamma-glutamylcysteine (GGC) molecule, is the first to demonstrate its ability to safely raise glutathione inside the cells where it’s needed.

“Until the advent of Glyteine®, there has been no solution for replenishing chronically depleted glutathione,” explains University of New South Wales Professor Wallace Bridge, Ph.D., who, in collaboration with Martin Zarka, Ph.D., invented the manufacturing process for the Glyteine® molecule. “The demonstration in human studies that orally administered GGC can rapidly increase cellular glutathione levels represents a dramatic leap forward in glutathione science.”

“It is gratifying that our 20-plus years of research and collaborative work, by a group of Australian biochemical scientists and engineers has brought us to this point and is now being acknowledged by this award. Our team has invested significant time and resources in Glyteine® because we strongly believe in its tremendous potential. This is our opportunity to take our work to the next level,” concludes Shah.
