When Joe De Sena founded Spartan, the world's leading obstacle race, he was motivated to "rip 100 million people off their couches by creating the Spartan lifestyle." As his Spartan Up podcast viewers recently learned, optimizing their cellular glutathione levels helps fuel their drive for adventure.

Appearing on the podcast to discuss his favorite nutritional hacks, Functional Medicine expert and runner Bryce Wylde told viewers about the millions of dollars in research behind Glyteine®, the powerful glutathione-boosting ingredient found in Continual-G®.

Glutathione is referred to as the Master Antioxidant. "Glutathione is a natural detoxifier. Most of us don't make enough of it." He added that glutathione is also responsible for getting rid of cellular debris, helping to protect brain and liver cells, healthy aging and "most importantly, for recovery."

Wylde commented that glutathione is a multi-million dollar industry. But he explained that supplementing with glutathione or one of its precursors such as NAC, doesn't work to raise cellular glutathione levels. "When you take one of these supplements, all you're doing is building up extracellular glutathione levels (outside the cells)."

But the body will use Glyteine® to produce glutathione inside the cells above homeostasis. "Cells love it!" commented Wylde.
